Sony UK is pleased to announce the introduction of the DCR-SR90E (DCRSR90E), an exciting compact HDD camcorder, combining a host of value-added features with camera technology excellence.  The DCR-SR90E HDD camcorder has an impressive 30GB capacity providing up to 21 hours recording time, boasts 3 Megapixels, built in Dolby Digital 5.1ch surround sound microphone and 'One touch DVD Burn' for easy conversion to DVD.

High quality camcorder technology
The Sony DCR-SR90E is a high quality and easy to use camcorder, and uses the best of Sony technology to realise excellent image quality and provide a seamless shooting experience.

The DCR-SR90E HDD camcorder has a Carl ZeissŪVario-Sonnar T* lens featuring a 10x Optical Zoom and 120x Digital Zoom capability and a filter diameter of 30mm. The advanced multi-layer T* coating within the Carl Zeiss lenses minimizes reflections, reduces flare and increases contrast.

Audio as if you were there
The Sony DCR-SR90E HDD camcorder features a built-in microphone that is always ready to record in 5.1 Dolby Digital channel Surround sound.  5.1-channel surround audio is perfect for use in conjunction with the latest widescreen TVs and home theatre systems creating a cinematic sound and feel to your home movies.

Crash protection
Sony has taken every precaution to ensure that your data is protected while stored in the camcorder's hard disc drive.

The camcorder is equipped with physical shock absorbers to cushion the HDD from an impact and internal 3G sensors that detect gravitational force in 3D automatically protect the hard disc when a fall is detected by disconnecting the HDD write head from the hard disc.

If your camera suffers an impact during use, the Video stream buffering feature saves video footage to its buffer memory until the HDD recovers.

Maximise fun and creativity
The DCR-SR90E comes complete with software solutions that make copying and backing up your footage very simple. Features included are as follows;

• One Touch DVD Burn - with one push of button, automatically create your own DVDs.
• Easy PC HDD back-up - Camcorder data can be quickly and easily copied to the PC. Not only this, but the DCR-SR90E automatically synchronises with your PC to detect the newest data since your last DVD burn or back up.
• Authoring - this feature has been added in response to consumer demand for advanced DVD authoring ability. Manual Editing, imposing original title and manual DVD burning are made possible by this solution.

Long recording time
The DCR-SR90E features a 30GB Capacity to ensure a longer recording time. Recording at 3Mbps allows up to 21 hours of recording time, a higher resolution of 6Mbps sees an impressive recording time of up to 10 hours and recording at the highest quality, 9 Mbps can be achieved for up to seven hours at a time. Longer recording time will obviously require better data access, so Sony has created a new Visual Index and Easy Search to allow easier navigation of archived footage, including the ability to search by date and time.

STAMINA standards you'd expect from Sony
To enable you to maximise the amazing recording times made possible by the DCR-SR90E, Sony has made this camcorder incredibly power efficient. With the supplied battery, the camcorder can record for up to 110 minutes and with an Optional Battery, it can achieve up to 275 minutes on a single charge.

Compactness
Due to its use of embedded media and a small mechanical deck, the newest HDD camcorder from Sony is compact and easy to hold. What's more by focusing on reducing the height dimension of the camcorder, a lower height allows a more stable grip of the camcorder body.

Always easy to use
Sony's unique Easy Handycam menu gives one-button access to simplified camera operation and recording settings. It locks out the more advanced features of the menu, giving the user a quick and easy selection of basic settings. These are displayed on the LCD screen in large, easy to read characters.

To further help you share your memories with friends and family, the DCR-SR90E features Pictbridge, the standard for printing directly to compatible PictBridge photo printers, such as the Sony DPP-FP50. 

The Sony DCR-SR90E will be available from April 2006.

The ECM-HW1 wireless microphone, using bluetooth technology, is designed to add further depth and clarity to your audio recording by being easily attached to your subject by clipping onto the clothes, worn around the arm, around the neck or placed nearby. The microphone communicates with the receiver unit wirelessly at up to 30M distance and it works as a centre microphone of 5.1ch surround sound.

The ACC-FP71 value accessory kit contains three indispensable items to accompany your camcorder, offering a saving on the price of buying them separately. The kit contains the NP-FP71 high capacity battery, the LCS-VAC carrying case and shoulder belt.

Sony also offers the LCM-HCF, a new Semi Soft Carrying Case for easy storage and carrying of your DCR-SR90E. The new sport pack SPK-HCB offers waterproofing for up to 5 meters for the DCR-SR90E and protects it perfectly.

The HVL-10NH is a high power 10w light. Compatible with all new Handycam models, it is supplied with an Accessory Shoe Adaptor.
