Sony launches a new Sony MV-700HR portable DVD station

Sony Europe has announced the launch of a new portable DVD player for 2005 – The Sony MV-700HR (MV700HR) is a completely new DVD station concept. As opposed to existing laptop designs the Sony screen faces out, allowing it to fold neatly, taking up less space and provides a new way to enjoy movies. It comes in 2 colours, silver and black (MV-700HRS, MV-700HR).

Sony MV-700R The Sony MV-700HR Portable DVD Station

The Sony MV-700HR does not only read regular DVDs but is also compatible with DivX so that you can enjoy compressed video. It also reads traditional CD-R and MP3 files, meaning you can also listen to music, making this a truly compatible Sony MV-700RS product that won’t let you down.

In addition to the CD/DVD drive, the Memory Stick slot enables you to listen to MP3 files or to display the jpeg pictures you have just shot with your Sony Cyber-shot digital camera or Sony Handycam while on the go.

The Sony MV-700HR is supplied with an AC adaptor for in-home use as well as a cigar adaptor for in-car use. With the optional battery MV-100BAT, you can add up to 3 hours battery life, offering true mobility, so you can take it wherever you go.

Sony MV-700R in a Car Kit Cradle To make in-car use even more convenient, an in-car kit is supplied. This consists of one easy to install cradle that can be fixed to the passenger’s headrest. The DVD station connects to this cradle in one simple click. It also comes with an additional AV input, allowing you to watch any other source on the DVD station monitor.
